Enterprise SEO Audit — Sanaf Marketing

Sanaf Marketing LLC, a US-based digital marketing agency, hired me to conduct in-depth technical SEO audits for their enterprise clients. These were large-scale websites with 50,000+ pages, complex architectures, and years of accumulated technical debt that was suppressing their organic performance.

My role was to be the technical SEO specialist — crawl, analyze, identify issues, prioritize by impact, and deliver actionable audit reports the client's development teams could implement.

Scale: Websites with 50,000+ pages meant crawls took 8-12 hours and generated massive datasets to analyze. Traditional manual auditing was impossible.

Complexity: Enterprise sites had multiple CMS systems, CDN layers, JavaScript rendering requirements, and legacy URL structures from previous migrations that created canonical loops.

Redirect Chaos: One client had 340+ redirect chains (some 5-6 hops deep) and circular redirects that were bleeding crawl budget and link equity.

Orphan Pages: 2,800 pages existed in the database but had zero internal links — invisible to both users and Google's crawler.

Stakeholder Communication: Enterprise clients needed audit results translated into business impact language, not just technical jargon. Reports needed to be actionable for non-technical stakeholders.

Crawl Strategy:
Used Screaming Frog with custom extraction rules and a cloud-hosted crawl server for the large sites. Ran parallel crawls: one following internal links (to find what Google sees) and one from the sitemap (to find what's expected). Cross-referenced with Google Search Console data for real indexing status.

Systematic Analysis:
Built a prioritized audit framework covering: Crawlability → Indexability → Rendered Content → Internal Linking → Page Speed → Structured Data → Content Quality. Each section scored on a severity scale (Critical → High → Medium → Low).

Automated Reporting:
Used Python scripts to cross-reference Screaming Frog exports with GSC data, creating automated reports that highlighted the highest-impact issues first. Custom Google Sheets dashboards for ongoing monitoring.

Implementation Support:
Provided developer-ready fix instructions with exact URLs, current state, and desired state for each issue. Held weekly calls with dev teams to unblock implementation and verify fixes.

Technical Fixes:
- 150+ critical issues identified and fixed
- Indexability: 45% → 98% (27,000 more pages indexable)
- 340 redirect chains resolved into direct 301s
- 2,800 orphan pages either interlinked or removed
- 95 schema markup errors corrected

Impact on Clients:
- Average organic traffic increase: 38% within 2 months of implementation
- Crawl budget waste reduced by 65%
- Average page load time improved by 2.1 seconds
- Zero critical indexing errors in subsequent audits

The audit framework I developed for Sanaf is now used as their standard audit methodology for all new clients.
