Project Overview
A multi-location service business operating in 8 cities needed a unified local SEO strategy. Each location had its own Google Business Profile, but they were poorly optimized, had inconsistent information, and only 3 of 8 locations were appearing in the Local Pack.
Challenges Faced
Inconsistent Brand Presence: Each location had been set up by different managers over the years. NAP information was inconsistent across 200+ directory listings. Some locations had duplicate GBP listings causing conflicts.
Review Disparity: One location had 30 reviews while another had only 2. Customer trust varied significantly between locations.
Localized Content at Scale: Creating unique, locally-relevant content for 8 locations without it feeling templated was a major content challenge.
Tracking Complexity: Monitoring rankings, reviews, and visibility for 8 separate locations required systematic tracking and reporting.
My Approach
Audit & Cleanup: Used BrightLocal to audit all locations. Found and resolved 23 duplicate listings, corrected NAP inconsistencies across 200+ directories, and merged conflicting GBP listings.
GBP Optimization: Standardized all 8 profiles with complete information, proper categories, 30+ photos each, weekly Google Posts, and pre-populated Q&A sections.
Review Generation: Implemented a centralized review management system with automated post-service review requests. Trained staff at each location on the review process.
Location-Specific Content: Created unique landing pages for each city with local references, neighborhood mentions, and location-specific testimonials. Built a blog content calendar with location-focused posts.
Citation Building: Built 80+ high-authority citations for each location with perfectly consistent NAP data. Focused on industry-specific and city-specific directories.
Results & Impact
Local Visibility:
- Overall local visibility: 30% → 85%
- Locations in Local Pack: 3 → 6 of 8
- Total Google reviews: 45 → 280 (across all locations)
